  • this album was made in response to a call for music for the 2012 jack the ripper conference in York.the idea of the release was to use music written or first performed the year of the ripper to paint a portrait of late victorian society.the second half of the recording (track four onwards) adds passages from 'a feather on the breath of god' to evoke the idea of women surviving rather than dyeing and the sound of a umbrella being hit off flag stones which represents the killer himself.unfortunately soon after releasing this dark meadow ran into financial difficulties and closed down. In effect the few copies i have left are the only ones of this album.
