  • While Wildcat has produced some quality Speed Garage throughout his heyday none better example than this number as it is the most quintessential not to mention the best, or most successful, commercial release of his. This of course is barring his earlier work accomplished with reggae/house/breakbeat. 'Burnin' Up' sees the (ubiquitous) "...You got me burning up inside..." vocal sample used from where the origination of it comes from I can't discern with absolute certainty. And the male patterned vocal sample(s) featured is more than likely something exclusive that Wildcat did himself or is indeed himself, but again, I do not know for sure. The B-side, 'Special Request Dub', imo is the cream here and is why I never get tired of listening to this particular record. Here too we hear the sample used from "...You got me burning up inside...", but as this is the 'Special Request' dub, we also are treated to one of the most famous and most popular samples ever used in all underground reggae/ragga/Jamaican-influenced electronic dance music: "...I tell the Dj's wot to play..." taken--presumably--from the movie "The Harder They Come" which is class and worth checking out all in itself. Bottom line is that both cuts are bassline...and with that que the music... *This has been a review/commentary made by me, DaWreck. Ya got something constructive to add to this, please be my guest. You want to disagree, please back it up.
