Derrick Dimitry - Get It On Tonight download free

Holy grail 12" One of the most sought after 90's R&B classics. What a tune!!!! Derrick was a talented singer signed to the short lived Freeworld Entertainment Record label. This track first came to our attention on the excellent Freeworld promo sampler 12" imported from the states. This sampler already had a buzz about it because of Dallas Austin's connection to the label. The song became an instant street r&b classic, Already hard to find, copies of this sampler started changing hands for serious money between DJ's when the subsequent demise of Freeworld confirmed that the track would never be released. Then came the Montell Jordan cover a couple of years later and the rest is history. Many thought Montell's version was an original and although it's a pretty cool effort, Derrick's original is easily the better of the two and what a tune it is!!!! It's only over the last couple of years that R&B fans have discovered the truth behind Montell's version. 'Get It On Tonight' is easily one of the top 10 R&B joints of the 90's. The rhythm track is literally a loop of an obsure Claudja Barry downtempo disco tune..... It appears on the easier to find Freeworld Entertainment EP Sampler, but is seldom seen on this super rare 12" promo with Instrumental and Acappella
